Rally-raids, overland traverses, fatbike, cycling, marathons and camel races: what public sources actually say, with an explicit precision status on every edition.
This collection is documentary. It provides no safety guarantee, no navigation, and no permission to ride a competition course. Private road-books and GPS tracks are never redistributed here, and a list of stage towns is never turned into a drawn route.

Raid TransMauritania Fatbike — created and traced by Yann Lannezval
Yann Lannezval arrived in Nouakchott as a physical-education teacher in 2004 and created the Raid TransMauritania, a fatbike crossing of the Mauritanian Adrar that he traces himself. Each edition runs six stages between ergs, passes and oued beds; the organiser sends the GPS tracks to registered riders shortly before the start, so no route geometry is published here.

Casa Trotter community traverse (2018)
Six real GPX tracks recorded during a 2018 overland traverse and shared publicly by their author on the Casa Trotter forum: Guerguerat to Atar, the Adrar loops toward El Ghallaouiya, Amatlich, Oujeft and Mhaireth, then the coastal return to Guerguerat past the Banc d'Arguin. They are archived here untouched, with attribution.

Rally-raid1979–2007
Paris–Dakar / Dakar Rally in Mauritania
For nearly three decades the Paris–Dakar crossed Mauritania on its way south, and the country's ergs and regs became one of the most recognisable parts of the route. The 2008 edition was cancelled and the rally left Africa in 2009, closing that era.
