Mauritanian Eye exists to help travelers, locals and operators share real, useful information about travel in Mauritania. To keep it that way, everyone using the platform agrees to follow these guidelines.
Respectful travel discussion
Be respectful in questions, answers, comments, reviews and community updates. Disagree with the idea, not the person.
No harassment
No slurs, discrimination, threats or personal attacks against travelers, locals, operators or staff.
No scams or fraud
No fake operator claims, fake reviews, fabricated prices, fake bookings or attempts to redirect travelers to unverified or fraudulent providers.
No dangerous advice
Do not encourage unsafe driving, unauthorized border crossings, illegal access to restricted zones, or risky behavior on the Iron Ore Train or other transport.
Respect privacy
Do not publish other people's phone numbers, WhatsApp links, addresses or private contact details without their explicit consent.
No illegal travel facilitation
Do not use the platform to promote, organize or coordinate illegal travel, smuggling, undocumented border crossings, or unauthorized access to controlled sites.
Local contributors
Local contributors are very welcome and important to the platform. We only ask that the information you submit is accurate to the best of your knowledge and clearly marked as personal opinion when relevant.
Moderation
Community updates (POIs, destinations, listings, routes) are reviewed before publication. Questions, comments and reviews may be moderated after the fact. Content that breaks these guidelines may be edited, removed or unpublished.
Repeated abuse
Repeated abuse, spam, fraud or violation of these guidelines may lead to account suspension or removal without notice.
