Using the site

Is Mauritanian Eye a travel agency?: No. It is an independent, community-driven knowledge and storytelling project. We do not sell trips, and we are not a party to anything you arrange with an operator you find here.
How do I know whether a page is reliable?: Each page shows its verification state: locally verified, source reviewed, or community-submitted and moderated. Time-sensitive information carries the date it was last checked and a link to the official source.
Why does a place I know have no page?: Because we do not have honest, checkable content for it yet. We prefer to leave it out rather than publish a thin or invented page. If you know it well, contribute what you know.
Are the photographs real?: Photographs are either ours or submitted by contributors who hold the rights. Where a temporary illustration is used instead, it carries a visible disclosure.

Do I need an account to read the site?: No. Reading, searching and the map are open to everyone.
What does an account give me?: An account lets you contribute photographs and reviews, save places, and use messaging with the community.
Something on a page is wrong. What do I do?: Tell us the page address and what is wrong. Corrections are handled as a priority and the page gets a new checked date.
